Requisition Creation
Set your preferences
Navigation: Requisition Entry; Menu: Special> Preferences
Enter:
1. The charge account you will be using (see Oracle Quick Reference: Account Entry)
2. The buyer if known use Ctrl-L for a list of values
3. The suggested supplier and supplier site use Ctrl-L for a list of values
If supplier is not in the list of values, enter as free form text.

Note: the Requestor, Organization, and Location will default to you (based on your Oracle sign-on). If you are preparing this order for someone else, you may override yourself with the actual requester.
Optionally fill in other information as known.
Press the button [Apply]
The information provided on this screen will stay in effect until you return to this screen, and re-apply new information, or until you sign-off of the system.
Build the Requisition:
Navigation: Requisition Entry
Enter a description that is meaningful to you. When you search for this document, you may use the description as part of your search criteria.

Next, fill in the lines of the requisition. Be sure to enter:

(default is goods use services when you will be purchasing a dollar amount of services) |

Always fill in Use Ctrl-L to select from a list of values |
| Description: |
Always fill in Free form Text |
| UOM: |
Always fill in Unit of Measure Use Ctrl-L to select from a list of values |
| Quantity: |
Always fill in Enter the desired quantity
Note: If the line type is service, enter the dollar amount in this field. |
| Price: |
When line type is Goods, fill in with the items unit price |
| Need By: |
If the item is needed buy a certain date, you may communicate the date to the buyer here |
Other fields are optional.
Since you filled in the preferences, there is no need to go to the distribution unless you will be split coding your line between two or more accounts.
Use the down arrow key to move to the next line. Enter as many lines as are needed.
Save your work (Ctrl-s).
Check if you have sufficient funds in the accounts used by selecting: Menu: Special> Check Funds.
Document Approval
Navigation: Requisition Entry> Button: Approve
Setting up a pre-encumbrance:
In order to reserve funds from your budget so that others will not use them before your document has been approved, you will want to check the "Reserve" box.

The "Submit for Approval" box should be checked.
Optionally, select the "Print" box to produce a hard copy of the document on your assigned printer. (Please contact Alan Hitt if you have troubles printing, or if you are in question as to what printer the output will be routed.)
Optionally, fill in a note to the approver.
Press the [OK] button.
Your document is now routed to Jenny Medrano for account usage, further funds verification, possible budget transfer as appropriate, and approval.
