A career as a Registered Nurse can be rewarding, flexible, and challenging.  The majority of RNs work in acute care, providing direct care to patients with a variety of medical conditions.  You should have a fairly good aptitude for math and science, good communication skills, and be comfortable working closely with people.  Registered Nurses find work in hospitals, long-term care facilities, schools, insurance companies, and other healthcare environments.  Some of these settings may require an advanced degree - if you are interested in a specific nursing career, find out what type of education and experience you'll need by doing some research and talking with a career counselor.
