HORTICULTURE
The Horticulture curriculum provides training for employment in nurseries, greenhouses, residential and commercial landscape maintenance, landscape design, contracting, golf course mainenance and much more! Many students choose to continue their education at a four year college level and then enter such fields as teaching, research, landscape architecture and other related fields. Laboratory experience is an integral part of this program. This program offers both a Certificate and an Associate of Arts Degree. LANDSCAPE
Upon successful completion of the Horticulture Landscape Certificate, the student demonstrates skills, knowledge, and training to take the State Landscape Association Certified Technicians test of for employment positions in the following: groundskeeper, landscape installer, landscape maintenance, pruner, and starting a personal business. The student will be able to demonstrate his or her ability to do a variety of skills associated with the landscaping industry. This program offers a Certificate. NURSERY
This program will teach skills and knowledge, as well as provide training to students to take the State Nursery Associatiom CCN pro test for the following employment positions in the Nursery field: retail sales, growing of nursery stock, growing of floriculture plants, maintenance and upkeep of plant material and starting a personal business. The student will demonstrate the ability to transplant plants, fertilize plant material, assist a customer in plant selection, develop a crop schedule and identify a variety of plants. FLORAL DESIGN
The Horticulture Floral Design curriculum provides training for employment in floral shops or floral wholesalers. Many students choose to continue their education at the four year college and then enter such fields as teaching, research and related fields. This class can also be taken for the the extracurricular hobby of creating beautiful centerpieces and bouquets. Laboratory experience is an integral part of the course. TURFGRASS PROGRAM
