Employee Benefits Information

San Joaquin Delta College offers its employees a comprehensive fringe benefit package that includes health insurance, dental insurance, vision care plan, life insurance, and long-term disability.  This coverage is offered for the employee and their dependents.  The highlights of the package are listed below.

Health Insurance

Currently, each bargaining unit (CSEA, CTA, POA, Management & Confidentials) have their own set of health plans to choose from.

Dental Insurance

Delta Dental provides dental insurance for employees of the District.

Vision Care Plan

Vision Service Plan provides vision care for employees of the District.


Life Insurance

Benefits are provided for you and your family.

Long-Term Disability

Income protection coverage for employees is provided.  Should you become disabled, after a 60-day waiting period, the benefit payable to you is two-thirds of your monthly salary, before tax liability.  Depending on your employment status, you are entitled to either a one-year benefit or up to the age of 65.

Retirement Plan

The District's employees are enrolled in either the State Teachers' Retirement System (STRS) or Public Employer's Retirement System (PERS), depending on position classification and/or prior membership.  Retirement allowance is calculated on a formula based on age at retirement, number of years of service and income.  Members are eligible to retire with a minimum of five years of service.


Employee Assistance Plan
The Employee Assistance Program offers family and community counseling services - employees and/or their family members can receive counseling assistance.  This is completely confidential. 

Paid Time Off

The District realizes the importance of creating a balance between work and personal life.  To work at the highest ability, employees need to take time away from their job for rest, recreation, and important personal matters.  To accommodate those needs, SJDC provides generous holiday and vacation schedules and sick time hours.

Tuition Fee Waiver

Employees and their eligible dependents are eligible for tuition fee waivers for regular classes (not including community service classes) taken at Delta College.  Dependents are eligible if they are declared by the employee on their Federal Income Tax Return.


Child Development Center

The CDC reserves ten percent of the available spaces for children of all staff during a priority registration period.

Athletic Events Employees and members of their immediate families are provided free tickets to all District sponsored athletic events.
