CalWORKs |
| Dr. Stacey Robles Bagnasco is the CalWORKs Counselor at SJDC. CalWORKs students are students who are receiving cash aid. She works with the CalWORKs program on campus by providing CalWORKs students with academic, career and personal counseling. She is available to meet with students one-on-one and create Student Education Plans. However, students can meet with any counselor on campus. Before setting up an appointment to meet with Stacey, please contact the CalWORKs department on campus by calling (209) 954-5404 or 954-5415 or stop by Forum 110. GED / Non-Credit |
| Yolanda Calderon is a General Counselor who works with GED and non-credit students. Yolanda's special assignment with GED students includes, Orientation presentations in the GED classrooms, Career Planning, personal and academic counseling. Puente |
| The mission of the Puente Project is to increase the number of educationally underserved students who enroll in four-year colleges and universities, earn degrees, and return to the community as leaders and mentors to future generations. To ensure transfer success, students must commit to all three phases of the program: 1.) Enroll in an English class with a curricular focus on Latino literature and experience. 2.) Enroll in a Guidance course and meet regularly the Puente counselor. 3.) Meet with a professionally and/or academically successful Mentor from the community for the academic year. Students can make an appointment to receive help with deciding on a career, planning out courses, transferring to a university and personal counseling. | Dr.
Cheuyengther
Xiong is presently serving as the lead counselor for Veterans (All general counselors, however, are available to assist veterans). Benefits are paid to eligible veterans, dependents, reservists, and service members while they are in an approved training program. Before setting up an appointment to speak with Mai or any of the other counselors in Guidance and Counseling, please contact Patty Nielsen, Financial Aid Specialist by calling (209) 954-5120 or stopping by the Financial Aid Office in Goleman 125. One hour counseling appointments for veterans can be made by calling (209) 954-5650. |
