Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE)

The CARE Program (Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education) is an affiliate program of EOPS designed to support the special needs of a single parent recipient of AFDC, TANF, or CalWORKS, 18 years of age or older, head of household, with one or more children, 14 years of age or younger.

QUALIFICATIONS

Be eligible for EOPS.
Be 18 years of age or older.
Be a single parent/head of household.
Custodial parent of one or more children, 13 years old or younger.
At least one dependent child is a current recipient of AFDC/TANF/ CalWorks cash aid. NOTE: must provide a current Passport to Services or a current Case Summary and Issuance of History or a completed CARE Certification Form. CLICK HERE for the CARE Certification Form, download, print, complete and submit to the EOPS Service Counter. CARE Certification Form must have Agency stamp.
Be enrolled in 12 or more units each semester (Waiver available).
Enrolled in an educational program of study leading to a vocational/technical training certificate, associate degree, or university transfer program.
The CARE Guidance courses (GUID 18A, 18B & 18C) are no longer required, however, are highly recommended for CARE students. (If you are enrolled in the CARE Guidance course you are exempt from the EOPS Student Success Seminar requirement only for the semester you are enrolled in the CARE Guidance class).
