| What is a hold?
A hold is a block on a student's record that prohibits one or more of the following:
Holds are placed as a result of unpaid financial obligation to the college, regulatory requirements, or student behavior. The definition of proper financial obligation shall include, but is not limited to: student fees; obligations incurred through the use of facilities; equipment or materials; library fines; unreturned library books; materials remaining improperly in the possession of the student; and/or any other unpaid obligation a student or former student owes to the District. A proper financial obligation does not include any unpaid obligation to a student organization. |
A student who wishes to investigate a hold placed on his/her academic record should do the following:

How do holds affect student records? Students or former students who have been provided with a written notice or student email that they have failed to pay a proper financial obligation shall have grades, transcripts, diplomas, certificates, and registration privileges withheld. |
| Release of Records Records will be provided: a. During a period when facts are in dispute. b. When it is demonstrated to the Director of Admissions & Records that reasonable progress is being made to pay the amount owed or that there exists a reasonable justification for delay in repayment. c. Upon payment of amounts owed. |
