NURS 009 - Advanced Medical/Surgical Nursing - Units 3.5

Prerequisites: NURS 6 and NURS 7 with a grade of "C" or better.

Limitations on Enrollment: Admission to the program.

This course is designed to provide theoretical and clinical approaches in providing nursing care to individuals of varying ages with complex health care needs in an acute care environment. Concepts related to organization, patient care management, and leadership are included with the use of the nursing process. Emphasis is placed on patient care outcomes and professional accountability and responsibility. Professional issues, trends, and roles are also presented. (CSU)
